Second Highest but Not Second Rate
This month's cover story in the North Columbia Monthly is on one of my favorite areas in the Columbia Highlands, the Abercrombie-Hooknose Roadless Area. If you're out in northeast Washington, pick up a copy of this great little mag, distributed free all over Ferry, Stevens, Pend Oreille and Spokane County, too.
I shot the cover and provided the text to help you get out there and explore this little known (and ecologically important) part of our state. More info on this mountain can be found in my Best Hikes with Dogs Inland Northwest Book and the upcoming Columbia Highlands: Exploring Washington's last frontier book, to be released next winter.
